Moving to Maui and living here were the last things on my mind a couple of years ago. A new job offer was made and I just could not refuse it. After visiting here a few years ago, I set my sights on moving here and working. After almost a year later, I was interviewed and hired as a property manager of a resort here.
Back on the mainland (that is what they call the 48 states here) I worked for a mechanical company for many years until the leadership changed hands. I was immediately hired at another mechanical company and worked there for a few weeks when this opportunity came up. A few weeks later and huge moving expense later, here I am.
I had a penchant for making hot sauces. I would order from online suppliers and also obtain my products from local grocery stores. I missed doing that, so I decided why not here. I found that Hawaii’s climate is perfect year round for growing all types of peppers.
I grow a wide variety from bell peppers to carolina reaper peppers (the hottest in the world). My production of hot sauces is limited to the variety that I have on hand. When my personal stock is limited, I source from local suppliers that I trust and know that I am getting the best available.
